My first experience of real Italian food was in Tuscany last November when Dan and I spent our anniversary wandering the streets of Florence eating our way through pasta bowls bigger than our head. Italy really does have some of the best food in the world, so finding somewhere that matched that authenticity here in London was a major goal of mine. Well good news for me and you, I may just have just found it in Theo’s Simple Italian. A wonderful restaurant just off the busy high street of Earls court in Kensington is a real hidden gem. Created by Theo Randall (a Michelin star and in house chef for Intercontinental hotel in London) just recently opened this Italian restaurant to provide a casual dining experience for lovers of good, fresh, Italian food.

The evening was filled with good wine and good people, oh and also really good craft Italian beer too which I know Dan would have loved. The menu is as simple as the restaurant name suggests and really worth the prices which are reasonable for a good Italian. I plan on recreating some of these recipes using Theo’s Simple Italian cookery book, so if you can’t make it to the restaurant be sure to check out the book!
