Just last week I wrote a post all about struggling with my body, and yet here I am writing a post in my under crackers, life is funny isn't it. I'll be honest I've not posted Lingerie on this blog before, for many reasons, but mostly because I haven't felt confident enough to completely show my body to the world. High waisted bikini bottoms is one thing but braving low rise lingerie, baring my tummy is another. Part of me writing this blog, is to help you guys push boundaries, but that also means practicing what I preach. Whilst this was not easy for me to do I wanted to do anyway to normalise how we view plus size bodies.

You might be thinking this is going to be a post about how sexy, Lingerie makes me feel but actually it's the opposite. Finding the confidence to wear a mega fly outfit and feel sexy is one thing, but feeling comfortable in your pants on the internet is another. I'm also nervous of labeling myself sexy because in my plus size body I'm already sexualised enough. My body is fetishised by men all the time. Often they feel that it's acceptable to leave me crude messages explaining why they are attracted to my type of body and I hate it. The only person I want to feel sexy for is my husband and ironically lingerie isn't always part of that equation.

Finding nice Lingerie is more than feeling sexy, for me it means feeling comfortable both physically and metaphorically. When I choose a good bra and knicker set I want to feel confident, but honestly the comfort is what matters to me the most. Finding a bra that doesn't dig into me or leave me with sores by the end of the day is always the ultimate goal for a big busted gal like myself. I am so happy to say that I have found a brand that provides those requirements. As well as offering beautiful pieces that make me feel feminine and pretty.

It wasn't that long ago that plus size women were completely ignored in the lingerie industry matching, pretty, feminine sets just weren't accessible to women like us. Instead we were lumped with basic, bland, one style pieces. which you could only find in the deep, dark corners of your local department store. And although we are still far off from seeing a body like mine in a lingerie campaign there has been incredible improvement in the styles and size ranges for us plus size gals. Thanks to brands like Elomi we have access to beautiful lingerie, in bright colours, soft and padded cups all with total fit and support right up to a J cup. The set I am wearing right now is the Matilda, (in size 42E) and what I love most are the beautiful bold purple and pink colours. It's nice to move away from my go-to black sets and that is just what Elomi is all about, providing Lingerie with style. What I love even more than that is the thick, supportive straps that are on nearly all Elomi Bras have, this is a game changer in regards to comfort, especially if you are big busted.

Although I was nervous shooting these looks, I am glad I did. I know I am no supermodel, I am just a normal girl. I have stretch marks, scars, skin pigmentation, and fat rolls. But this is my body and I will learn to appreciate it for what it does for me and how it makes me feel. So if you are struggling with how you feel, go and treat yourself to beautiful set from Elomi. Put it on, and strut around your bedroom in your pants. Don't do it for anyone else do it for yourself, because you know what....
